Matthew Barlow
BVM&S, MRCVS
Matthew started Home Farm Equine in 2007 having worked in the area for over 13 years as an equine vet. Sport horses are Matthew's forte but all horses and ponies come under his umbrella. Alongside working in the practice, Matthew covers racecourse duties at Southwell and Nottingham, as well as being the official vet at many local events including team chases, Point to Points and numerous BE events, such as Osberton and Oasby.
Ine Refseth
DVM, MRCVS
Originally from Norway, Ine graduated in 2016 from Szeint Istvan University in Budapest, Hungary. She initially moved to Ireland working for 2 years in Fethard Equine Hospital, where she discovered her main interests are lameness and surgery, before joining the team here at Home Farm Equine in February 2018. You’ll often find Ine covering the veterinary duties at local events; whilst during her spare time, Ine enjoys going running with her collie “Zach”.
Agnes Codina
DVM, MRCVS
Agnes qualified from the University of Zaragoza, Spain, in 2015 after which she moved to Dubai to complete a 12 month internship in a busy equine hospital. She joined us at Home Farm Equine in March 2018, and has continued to develop her interest in equine lameness and sports medicine. Agnes is now an accredited Racecourse Veterinary Surgeon, and assists Matthew with covering racecourse duties at Southwell. In her free time she enjoys walks with her dog "Lani" and exploring the English countryside.
Alex Willes
BVM BVS, MRCVS
Alex graduated from the University of Nottingham in July 2019, joining Home Farm Equine shortly after. Growing up on the family farm in Somerset, Alex rode horses from a young age, before gaining experience in a number of ambulatory practices & equine hospitals during university. She is now enjoying developing her interests in all aspects of ambulatory equine work. When out on calls, you’ll generally find Alex accompanied by her sidekick “Sam” who she enjoys taking for walks exploring the local area in her spare time.
Oriane Abdous
DVM, MRCVS
Oriane graduated from the Lyon University in 2017 during her time there she spent 6 months working in an equine hospital in Quebec. After qualifying Oriane and her Lab X “Schweppes” spent 12 months working at a busy equine hospital in Bordeaux, before crossing the channel and joining us at Home Farm Equine in the summer of 2018. Oriane’s true passion lies in equine internal medicine, in which she is currently completing a certificate. During her free time Oriane likes to keep busy enjoying a range of activities from swing dancing through to hiking in the Peak District with “Schweppes”.
Iris Segura Roca
DVM MRCVS
Iris qualified from Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona in 2016. She specialised in horses during a 12 month internship in Bosdreef, a busy equine hospital in Belgium, where she stayed for an extra 6 months working. She joined us at Home Farm Equine in September 2019, moving to the East Midlands with her partner who is a small animal vet. She enjoys all aspects of ambulatory work, but has a particular interest in internal medicine, stud work and neonatology. In her free time, Iris regularly goes for long walks in the Peak District and goes to the gym - when Covid allows!
Cathy Mohandas
Receptionist
Cathy has been with Home Farm Equine since January 2014. She grew up with horses, competing at local shows, and later worked in various yards before spending a year travelling in Australia and New Zealand. Cathy enjoys doing obedience training with her dogs “Luna” and “Finn” as well as taking them on long walks, she also enjoys spending time with her family and friends when COVID allows!
Helen Hartley
Receptionist
Helen joined the receptionist team at Home Farm Equine in September 2020, having been involved in the horse industry for the past 15 years. Helen started riding at a young age, and now has her own pony “Pie” who she has recently broken in; in the future she hopes to do some dressage with her, but for now Pie is not so keen!
